2006 Walk Details

If you would like to learn more about Breast Cancer 3-Day events, click here.

We’ll be two of thousands of women and men who will unite in Clearwater, FL and walk 60 miles through the Tampa area amidst the beauty of the Bay. It's a weekend of hope, as we honor lives lost, celebrate survivors, promote breast cancer research, and help bring breast cancer care to those who so desperately need it.

Opening Ceremonies

The walk starts at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, October 13th, with early morning Opening Ceremonies (a quiet celebration to remember the purpose of the walk) at Sand Key Park in Clearwater, Florida. Sand Key Park is a ninety-five acre park located in Pinnellas County, on a barrier island between the Gulf of Mexico and the Florida mainland.

Cheering Stations

Cheering Stations are designated places along the 3-day route that can accommodate large groups of people where walkers can meet their family, friends and fans. This allows walkers access to a safe route which can remain open and accessible to emergency vehicles.

If you are looking for something to do, and plan to be in the Tampa area, conisder visiting one of the cheering stations to support the walkers. Your personal support would mean a lot to me, Melissa and the thousands of other walkers! It was wonderful seeing the signs of support at each cheering station.
